Some Interesting Thoughts: Random Thoughts about Love

Why? Why is it that girls say that they like guys who are sensitive, and they break up with them for football jocks? And girls think boys are weird. At least guys don't change their minds constantly.
I'm a sensitive guy. The only thing I ever do that has anything to do with sports is running long distances at night. I've enjoyed that for several years now. And still - girls think I'm sensitive - but I'm not "manly" enough for them.
And what qualifies as manly? The ability to chug down six beers while cheering wildly for your favorite team and chomping pizza? No - seriously - how do those guys even get married? Women ought to be disgusted with slobs like them.

Another topic.
You can always tell if someone has fallen in love before. There's a very simple rule to determine if the love was actually love or just a crush.
If they've fallen in love and had their hearts broken, they don't break up with anyone again. Period. If they can help it, they'll stick with those people they find.
They're wounded. Not physically, but emotionally. It's like losing an arm in combat. Nothing's the same ever again. The wound sometimes throbs with pain - and it lasts forever.
The pain. Never. Leaves. It can fade, but it's always there.
And that's something people who haven't fallen in love and had their hopes crushed can't grasp - can't feel. They don't know how it hurts.
But it hurts so badly!!! I'd rather lose both my arms than go through that experience again. And I'd never make someone go through that.

Another topic.
I have a little story to tell. True story. I don't know if it the people it's about would want me to tell it, but it must be told. It's so beautiful.
A boy and a girl fell in love in high school. Let's call them Sally and Jimmy. Sammy and Jimmy would do everything together. But high school ended, and they had to go to separate colleges. Amidst many tears, Sally and Jimmy swore to each other that they would stay in touch and get married afterwards. And so they went.
But plans often go awry. This man and this woman were separated - if not emotionally, by distance. And that was more than one of them could take.
Sally fell in love with a man - John - she met at her college, and he told her he loved her, and she told him she loved him back. They worked together to plan out what they should do.
With this newcomer's help, she got on the phone with Jim and told him that she was breaking up with him. She was sorry, but it was the way it had to be.
Jim was crushed. It hurt so badly to have been so faithful and to then have been practically flipped off like this. The pain stayed with him for many years.
But back to Sally. She and John got married. She loved him so much - she'd do anything for him. And she did. She quit college before learning enough to get a career of her own in her field so that she could work to keep John in.
After they got out of college, they had kids. Not just one or two, but a lot of them.
After about fifteen years more, things weren't looking so great. Sally learned a lot of things about John she hadn't known. He was an alcholic, and had been cheating on her with someone he had met online.
It was a quick divorce. Sally got full custody of her kids, and John got the freedom he had wanted. Looking back, Sally could see that he had never loved her - he just went through the motions. In particular, she recalled the look of suprise and disgust on his face right after they were married.
But Jim - Jim showed back up. Sally broke her leg, and Jim drove five hundred miles to come take care of her - five times the furthest distance he'd ever driven in his life. Twenty years, and he still loved her just as much as he had then. He wanted to marry her, and in response to her, "I have ten kids and pets!", he simply said, "I had already considered that part of the deal."
They got married. I could go on for a while at how it went - it was peaceful; blissful; warm. They truly did love each other. They always had. They always will.

Love. Never. Dies. Never forget that. It doesn't matter if it's yours for somebody else, or somebody else's to you. If it doesn't last, it isn't love. That's all there is to it.

I've never completely gotten over my first love. You don't "get over it"; you don't "move on". You're stuck with them - a piece of them - in your heart forever. It can hurt so badly sometimes. You don't "get over it"; you get used to it. It's a burden you carry for the rest of your life. No matter what.
What, they kill somebody? Sorry, you still love them. Pedophile? Don't you wish you could stop loving them. Nothing they could do would make you stop.

Love is both the greatest blessing and the greatest curse that this world has ever known.
